A Mansfield shop-owner opened his own ‘Sherlock Holmes’ style investigation after burglars stole movie merchandise and tried to ransom it for cash. Thieves use JCB to ram-raid petrol station ATM

The eyewitness of a dramatic ram raid who saw thieves steal a cashpoint in Duckmanton has described an “opportunistic, well-planned heist”. BB-gun bankrobber jailed for nine years

A bankrobber who stormed a branch of RBS brandishing a fake weapon has been sentenced to nine years in prison, a court has heard. Derby Crown Court heard that Andrew Hall threatening staff with an “imitation firearm” – a plastic air gun – making them fear for their lives. He reportedly has a history of using fake weapons to perform robberies, the heard on June 26.
